Must-do activity on one of Queenstown’s famous icons
From the summit of Bob’s Peak, gaze out and admire the stunning views over Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. As the Skyline Gondola carries you 1,476 feet (450 m) high, watch as the surrounding landscape slowly reveals itself, and at the top, take the opportunity to snap a memorable photo or two.
Flanked on one side by hills and on the other by Lake Wakatipu, the town of Queenstown is ideally placed. Take a ride on the Skyline Gondola, which weaves up one of the peaks to outstanding vistas of this beautiful area. Holding the accolade of being the steepest cable car in the Southern Hemisphere, the ride up is dramatic as the local landscape gradually appears the higher you go.
At the summit of Bob’s Peak, stroll around the viewing platform that offers you 220-degree views of Lake Wakapitu, The Remarkables, Coronet Peak, Cecil and Walter peaks and much more. Snap a picture to capture the awe-inspiring sights and appreciate the grand scale of the famously beautiful region.
